1st Aero Squadron Lapel Pin

The 1st Aero Squadron, the United States oldest flying unit was stationed at Mitchel Field, on Long Island, NY from 10/10/1919 through 11/06/1940. The squadron aided in training and experimentation during the interwar years and made several advancements in the US Military during this time. The 1^st Aero Squadron insignia is painted on the museum’s Fokker D.VII to reflect the aircraft stationed on the base during this period.
