More than 15,000 have already been built, an all-time record! In December 2011, Boeing launched the new Boeing 737 MAX program. The new generation of aircraft is based on the older design and features improved aerodynamics and more efficient engines. The first aircraft of this type were delivered to airlines in 2017. One of the first users of the 737 MAX 8 was LOT Polish Airlines, which received its first Boeing 737 MAX 8 on December 2, 2017.
